Empowering Oʻahu Educators Through DonorsChoose

 

The Teachers First Initiative is the NABSTMC Honolulu Chapter's signature education outreach program, dedicated to supporting Oʻahu educators and the students they serve.

 

To maximize our impact, we utilize DonorsChoose for assistance in connecting with local public school teachers to support classroom learning.

 

Through DonorsChoose, teachers submit requests for specific educational materials and learning experiences their students need—from books and science equipment to technology, art supplies, and flexible classroom seating.

 

Our chapter reviews projects submitted by Oʻahu educators and, on a quarterly basis, selects classroom requests to fund. Once a project is fully funded, DonorsChoose purchases the requested materials and delivers them directly to the school, ensuring accountability and transparency throughout the process.

 

By using Donors Choose, we know our contributions go directly toward teacher-identified classroom needs, allowing us to support educators where they need it most while creating meaningful learning opportunities for students across Oʻahu.
